I'm Spole and I am old and live somewhere in the UK. I like drawing things and sticking them on the fridge, and have both work and personal experience in Media Production and Systems Engineering. I've put this website together to try and force myself to learn HTML, and have a place to put my work that isn't socials.

I have a job and it isn't this so i am not going to be consistent with how often i update this place but i intend to keep hosting it because it's not particularly expensive, at least not yet.

The tools out there these days are really good and anyone with a domain can get a project going on Neocities or something like that with pretty much no effort.

I made this site because i wanted to do some web design like when I used Piczo as a kid plus I kinda want to make a comic at some point and wanted my own place to post it. You can check the comic reader out here but there's no content yet, just something i've built upon every now and then.

Shoutout to Scott Andrew as well because although i've heavily modified mine by now, this site is all built off the foundation his template laid out. If you check it out you'll see the same hallmarks, but I added a lightbox function and other pages like galleries and blog sections so that means I'm cool.

Anyway, I think everyone with some kind of idea or project should give web design a go at some point, modern day social media websites are crap now and just serve to track you and sell you things you don't need. It works for marketing! Outside of that, you don't have to continue to shackle yourself to algorithmic whims and feed your brain endless amounts of AI-generated sludge.

Instead, plug yourself in to Spoleworld and prepare to have your digital conciousness truly rattled and your cyber-bones pulverised into radioactive dust. The stories will be major!
