Snot & Samson
Snot is a goblin whose curiosity has always been the main driver behind her actions. She spends most of her time outdoors making a living as an independent courier, and due to her being so observant and somewhat reckless by nature, she's able to discover paths and shortcuts that most of her kind wouldn't go to find in the first place, even if they wanted to. She also has a penchant for animal husbandry, often getting along better with wild animals than those of her own kind. Snot defies typical goblin behaviour by actively seeking undiscovered areas and creatures, soon leading her into territory that some beasts would stay clear of.
Samson is a young polar bear mysteriously separated from any others, thousands of miles from the nearest ice cap. After a first and nearly fatal encounter with each other in the woods one dark and cold night, the two eventually bonded over a hunt and shared a meal by a warm campfire alongside some much needed first aid. Samson has become Snot's closest companion, and now the two are rarely apart from each other and often rely on one another to survive this strange and sometimes hostile island they share together.
There's also this strange crow that follows them around a lot... probably nothing.
The Spoonyards Citizens: Tim, Holly, Sean and Horton.
Tim and Holly live together with the other goblins in the 'Spoonyards', with Tim leading the charge in bringing the mysterious 'power from the north' into the hands of goblin-kind through research on Biology and Engineering. Holly specialises more in Chemistry and 'Alchemy', and is known to create some of the most lethal concoctions and potent medicinals to come from within the Spoonyards. Their progress is middling until they hit a major breakthrough, setting off the steady unfolding of their chaotic future.
Sean is also a courier, like Snot, but has only ever operated within the confines of the Spoonyards and ever-so-slightly beyond; understandably so with the fears and fables of the world outside that have been recounted by the townsfolk for countless generations. His passing curiousity for the world outside becomes obsessive, starting to eat away at him as he begins to lash his frustrations out on others. Soon, however, something will change, and that may lead him on a long and treacherous path of self-discovery...
There's also Horton, an old croaker who is still actively running at least 70% of all the long standing businesses operating in the Spoonyards and is believed to be the richest goblin in town. He does also think quite highly of Sean as he has always noticed he's never been late to deliver his parcels and papers, and has run various other errands for him in the past. Strong business relationships, and a strange amount of people genuinely believe that he can see into the near future.
And more to come...
